FAQs

What populations do you work with?

I provide services to adolescents (ages 14-17) and adults. I have experience in working with individuals in the legal system, active duty service members, Veterans, and emergency personnel. I work with members of the LGBTQ community.

What do you provide treatment for?

I provide treatment to address depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, moral injury, ADHD, OCD, self-esteem, weight management, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ related challenges, stress management, anger management, emotional distress, relational challenges, sleep difficulties, cognitive distortions, substance use, co-occurring disorders, grief and loss, life transitions, and career challenges.

What type of therapeutic approaches do you use?

Foundationally, I utilize a humanistic/existential approach in developing an effective, working alliance to foster growth. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), and Gestalt therapy to address your specific needs.

CBT addresses irrational beliefs contributing to dysfunctional thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. DBT, a branch of CBT, focuses on fostering healthy coping skills to better manage stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others. ACT utilizes value-based interventions to achieve psychological flexibility. EFT increases emotional awareness, healthy utilization of emotions and understanding of relational attachment. Gestalt therapy focuses on the present while taking responsibility of one's life and cultivating self-regulation skills.

What insurance/forms of payment do you accept?

I currently accept Triwest insurance and self-pay. I accept credit card payments for self-pay.

What are your fees?

I have set rates for insurance payments. I discuss self-pay rates at the onset of treatment, which is determined by income (sliding fee scale) and the treatment plan most appropriate for your care.

What can I expect in initiating treatment?

Once your initial appointment is scheduled, I will email you intake paperwork including a professional disclosure statement and an intake history form to complete prior to our appointment. By reviewing and completing these forms in advance, it allows us to address any questions you might have about the disclosure statement and review pertinent historical information at the onset of care. We will spend the first few sessions exploring what might be helpful for you in therapy. We will work together in determining your treatment plan. I encourage open communication about questions, concerns, and whether or not you feel we are a good fit throughout the process.
